Would not recommend, take your pets elsewhere! We typically go to a family vet but after adopting our dog, we were given a coupon from indy vet for up to $250 off first initial visit so we wanted to take advantage of the “discount”. First off, I scheduled the appt for 12pm. I was told to call when we got there because he needed to be seperate from other dogs since his symptoms showed potential infection precautions. So i call when we got there and they put me on hold for an available vet tech, mind you, I had my baby with me as well, and so I started to get my stroller out and and get my son in it while i’m waiting. I’m on hold for 20 minutes. Someone finally picks up and proceeds to discuss pricing with us and says that they need to do a parvo test before we even go inside! That would have been nice to know in advance. Then she has me sign a “treatment plan” agreement through an app that they made me download before they would even come out. Then i waited an additional 15-20 minutes for them to come out, and then they say the test takes 10 minutes. I did not physically walk in for my appointment until 12:55pm. Vet was waiting for us and sarcastically said, “ looks like you got your hands full” because I had my stroller with me. Vet was very dry, didnt seem to enjoy his job or care really at all. Kept asking me what all that they did at the shelter and I proceeded to tell him multiple times, “here is his vet records and paperwork they gave me, I just got him yesterday and i’m not sure what all they did.” When it was time to pay, I was told that the coupon only covered the $79 exam fee and I still walked out paying $336 just for a parvo test and a fecal since he was having diarrhea/vomiting. Originally they wanted us to pay over $600 for all these medications “to help”without even knowing what it was because the fecal was going to take “a few days.” I understand maybe supportive meds in the meantime, but they wanted to prescribe 4-5 different meds for something that they didn’t even know what was causing it, and they didn’t even think he looked bad! I held off on purchasing any meds until we knew what was causing the vomiting and diarrhea, and sure enough i got a call the next morning that it was something that the meds wouldn’t have fixed and the new medication was going to be ready to pick up that afternoon. I asked them what time they closed and they said 6pm. My husband got off work around 4:30pm and was heading straight there. He called me when he looked up the address and said that it says they close at 5, so I tell him to call and confirm because they told me 6pm. He calls and the woman that answers the phone confirms that they are open until 6pm. My husband then drives from work to pick it up and arrives at 5:02pm. Doors are locked. Someone notices he’s at the door and proceeds to tell us that they will not allow us to pick up our dog’s medication because all the veterinarians left early and they were closing early, even though they knew we were coming! Overall would not recommend. I live in Plainfield, but drove to this location because the VCA closer to us had terrible reviews, I wonder why. In addition, this whole “coupon” gimmick just seems like a way to bring someone in just to make them pay excessively high prices to get around the “free” exam. Also, ridiculously false advertising of the said coupon because it didn’t cover up to $250 because she said it only applied to the exam, which in reality, when would someone ever pay $250 for just an exam?? Please heed my advice and take your pets elsewhere if you want a compassionate vet, short waits, good communication, and lower prices. If you enjoy sarcastic, dry vets that don’t seem to care at all, long waits, miscommunication, and excessively inflated prices, this is your spot!
Great place all around! Good location, clean, and AMAZING staff. Glad to have Dr. Lee there as well! Thanks for always taking care of Bruce and Luther!!!
