Veterinary Surgeons
Anthony Abbott BVSc MRCVS
Tony graduated from Liverpool University in 1977 and apart from a two year spell of travelling he has been working in small animal practice ever since. His interests are conservation and animal welfare. He is a keen theatregoer and his hobbies are cycling, gardening and yoga. He has a cat Tessie who, although over 17 years old, still manages a frenetic five minutes of dashing about every morning.

Ralph Sampson BVSc MRCVS
Ralph graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2001, and initially worked in a mixed practice in Somerset. He started at Greenwood in 2005 as a locum, and after a few months off for travelling returned to take up a permanent position. He is kept busy at home with two young children and a vegetable patch that attracts weeds and slugs! He has two ginger cats, Indy and Jonesy.

Judit Levai DrMedVet MRCVS
Jude graduated from Budapest University in 2003. Shortly after that she started working at a small animal practice in Oxfordshire which was also an ophthalmology referral centre, and this is where she developed her keen interest in this field. Jude joined the Greenwood Veterinary clinic in 2006. In her spare time she is an enthusiastic amateur photographer and enjoys exploring the world and wildlife with her camera at the ready.

Suzanne Whight BVSc MRCVS
Suzanne qualified from Bristol University in 1994, and has worked at the Chalfont-St-Peter Clinic for the last 16 years. Suzanne has an interest in feline medicine, but enjoys all aspects of small animal Veterinary work, particularly soft tissue surgery. Suzanne lives locally with her partner, daughter, and their cat George. She is currently employed on a part-time basis allowing her time to look after her little girl. Outside of veterinary work, Suzanne is a very keen vegetable gardener, spending any remaining spare time on her allotment.

David Evans MA VetMB MRCVS
David graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2005. He then spent 4 years working in London and a year working in New Zealand, before returning to his home town of Chalfont St Peter to join our team. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, photography, scuba-diving and gliding.
David is a Local Veterinary Inspector appointed by DEFRA
Veterinary Nurses
Claire Small RVN MBVNA A1 – Head Nurse
Claire has worked at Greenwood Veterinary Clinic since 2003 and became our head-nurse in June 2008. She was awarded a distinction level in her National Certificate of Animal Care, which she completed after leaving school. She then continued on to complete her NVQ 2 & 3 in Veterinary Nursing, qualifying in 2005. Claire is also an A1 assessor. Claire has a particular interest in running our weight control clinics, and since completing various nutrition courses has had great success in achieving significant weight loss for many of our more portly patients. Claire lives in Holmer Green.
Janet Miller RVN MBVNA
Janet qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1977 and has been a member of the Greenwood team since 1990, after taking a short break to start a family. She worked for eight years at the Zoological Society of London Animal Hospital where she developed her interest in wildlife. Family life introduced her to small mammal ownership, but currently she only has two dogs, a cat, two tortoises, three chickens and a duck! Janet runs our bi-monthly puppy ‘parties’ as she has a particular interest in puppy behaviour. Her hobbies include gardening, skiing and environmental issues.
Jaime Collins – Auxiliary Veterinary Nurse)
Jaime has been working as an Auxiliary Nurse since 1998, and joined Greenwood in October 2005. At home she has two rough collies and two cats. Jaime has a keen interest in wildlife photography.
Katherine Newell RVN MBVNA SQP PHC
Katherine qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 2004 and joined us as a member of Greenwood Veterinary Clinic in 2010. She currently lives on a small holding with her husband and has a small herd of sheep, chickens and ducks. She also has a dog called Mink, a cat called Tinker and a rabbit called Emma. Katherine has a keen interest in geriatric patient care.
Emma Swerling – Veterinary Nurse
Emma joined Greenwood in August 2008 shortly after completing her A-levels and touring South Africa with the school’s senior netball team. She qualified in early 2011. Emma still plays netball as well as enjoying running with her Labrador Ziggy; she lives on a farm and has always been involved in farm life and takes an active role whenever possible. In her spare time she likes socialising with friends and watching films.
Support Staff
Amber Atkinson – Veterinary Receptionist
Before joining us at Greenwood Veterinary Clinic at the start of 2011, Amber previously worked as Head Receptionist at another Veterinary Clinic for 6 years. She has also worked at a local kennels and is a qualified First Aider. She has a BTEC award in Client Care Management as well as a Foundation and a National Certificate in Animal Care. She is engaged to Andy and has two dogs, Charlie and Ruby. She also regularly pet sits for friends’ animals whilst they are on their holidays.
